trying to stay awake...

There are several things.

One is.
Christmas music is kind of depressing when it's not Christmas.

Two is.
don't ever think you know everything about a person. ever. ever.
because you don't. There's nothing worse than unsolicited advice from a person who knows 5% of the sitch. Well there may be things that are worse, like chicken pox, scabies or head lice (to name a really specific few) but it's definitely one of the top 32 worse things.

Three is.
I'll talk to you with no pants. Pants always beats no pants, unless you're in my house and then no pants always beats pants... because no pants shows major confidence.... Especially no pants in the company of strangers. (if you know the reference I'm glad)

Four is:
Josh is getting ordained in two weeks.
My brother, the pastor.

It's amazing the difference a call makes.

Five is:
I'll be glad when the waiting is over and I'm out there again.

We're hungry!

I'm slightly over blogging. I used to be about it on myspace and then someone disagreed with something I wrote one time, and it was all that I could do to not hurl myself into traffic. That might be a slight exaggeration, but it was less fun after that. I guess I'm a little sensitive. However, this time will be different. I am planning to welcome the (slightly) less intelligent masses to disagree and to bring it. I also welcome you to bring me some tacos while you are bringing things... also maybe some chips, guacamole, and salsa if you have a basket or something you can carry things in. I'll chip in for a shoulder bag (so you can still hold your basket) if you bring something sweet too. All I'm saying is that I wouldn't say no to a piece of chocolate cake. I had more to say, but now I'm hungry so I'm off.

Hurricane Preparedness

I wish I had my camera with me earlier. I went to Wal-mart to get water (and whatnot) to prep for the impending Ikeness. It was crazy. 10:00 on a Wednesday morning and there were thousands (that's might be a slight exaggeration) of people at Wal-mart. It was like the day before Thanksgiving but a lot less festive and with someone announcing over the PA where certain supplies for the hurricane were in the store. All of the canned goods were gone except for soup and pineapples. All of the water (jugs included) was gone except for one pallet of 24-packs of Dasani. All of the bread and tortillas (this is South Texas) were gone except for Mrs. Baird white bread which they filled the whole aisle with. There was not a single D battery in the whole store. (the size for flashlights). Then I went to fill up the tank for the evac and all of the gas, except for super-unleaded, was out. They charged regular unleaded prices for it.
